Missions

New Day Church is involved in multiple missions in our community and across the world.

Warming Center

When the temperatures get bitterly cold in the winter, New Day Church assists with the Salvation Army and other local churches to man a Warming Center that is set up for the homeless and those whose homes are without a means to heat it. At the Warming Center, there are beds, food, and showers for those that need it. Often games, puzzles, movies, books, and other amusements are provided for those sheltering there. Warm clothes, coats, hats, gloves or mittens, shoes, and blankets are also provided.

Breakfast Snack Handout

Many families in our community do not have the means to provide their children with a breakfast before sending them off to school. So, taking advantage of our location between the local high school and primary school, New Day Church provides breakfast snacks to the community (both the kids and their parents, and any other adults), just before the school day begins. We really enjoy this time to meet members of our community and provide for a need of theirs.

We welcome any donations to continue this effort.

Crisis Care Kits

New Day Church, through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, assembles Crisis Care Kits that are sent to wherever there is a need for them. Crisis Care Kits are packages of essential toiletries - like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, facial tissue, and more - and a small stuffed toy. These Kits are then sent to those suffering from a natural disaster, war, and refugees all across the world.

To quote the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries website, "In 2023, 45,978 Crisis Care Kits were sent in response to disasters and crises in Cuba, Ukraine, Hawaii, Venezuela, areas in Eurasia, and other countries, totaling almost one million US dollars’ worth of hygiene products sent overseas to people in need. In addition, thousands of kits are distributed each year in the United States."

You can learn more about Crisis Care Kits, other ways that Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is serving the world, and how you can help, at the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries website.

Child Sponsorship: Ezequiel

New Day Church, through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, is sponsoring Ezequiel, a pastor's son in Bolivia, in South America.

To quote the sponsorship program: "In many countries, Nazarene pastor's who have little income face financial obstacles when trying to access and sustain quality education for their children. The Nazarene Pastor's Children Sponsorship Program assists pastors' children with educational costs by helping to pay for tuition, school supplies, food, and transportation. The program's ultimate objective is to equip children to reach their potential, be responsible and contributing members of their families, churches, and communities, and embrace Christ's call to discipleship."

Ezequiel, our sponsored child, is a boy born on July 11, 2017. His mother is a children's pastor and his father is a pastor. He has a brother and a sister, likes to play soccer, and wants to be a doctor.
